Looking at the foreign markets and exchange rate

When considering buying a car in the US it all depends on our foreign exchange dollar rate. Yes you can find the car cheaper in the US,  this may be due to the tax being lower at some states. At the end of the day it all depends on the timing or the deal you get weather if its private or dealer/  retail price.
Let's start of by looking luxury car, let's assume we're buying the same model of the Mercedes Benz E Class in the US. It is actually listed cheaper on their website the e63 s 4 Mastic AMG cost in the US $99,770 and if a model listed at $110,000. Yes we do have to pay 13% tax on our purchases.

There are few things that you should consider when importing the car from the US.
  • The dollar exchange rate (¢90) Canada
  • Importing tax
  • Registration of the vehicle fees
  • Legal standard conversion from one country to another. Such a cluster gauge weather if it’s on kilometers or miles.
  • Speed limiter ( not going over 140 kilometres in Canada)
  • Customs

So let's say even if we are saving a few thousand here and there while importing the same vehicle, it's going to end up costing you the same thing. You just have to decide if it’s worth it to invest the time and effort of getting the car to Canada. Other factors can play a part in this as well such as gas expense, the kilometers that you're going to be putting on your vehicle, and of course your time. People do import cars from the US but mostly pre-owned vehicles.

Mercedes Benz C Class History

The first C-Class (W202) sedan was produced on 1, June, 1993. The existing Mercedes Benz C Class may be known as a small version of the S-class, not only in relations of exterior design but road protocols and interior features. (Ramey, 2013)

 (Media, 2000)

The Mercedes-Benz Class C earlier known as 190E was introduced to the market in November 1982. At first it wasn't called a C-class, this framework codenamed W201 was the first modern version of the C-class family  (Ramey, 2013). The success of the BMW 3-series into the luxury sedan market did not go unnoticed by Mercedes-Benz. At the time Mercedes-Benz had the W123 sedan and wagon as the smallest cars in their lineup  (Ramey, 2013). The W123was very much a midsized car by Mercedes C Class specifications, and its replacement was going to be an even larger and more luxurious automobile. A small sedan was needed to give the 3-series some competition and Mercedes spent over a billion dollars developing the W201 platform. Thus we have the popular C Class today.  (Ramey, 2013)

(M.Suliman, 2011)                                                          (Wheels, 2012)

Mercedes Benz C Class Sedan is targeted at the luxury mid-range auto market and it has been an innovator from the very beginning. It’s recognized to be a serious contender for its name recognition, high safety standards, smooth ride and superb mechanical engineering  (Mayo, 2011). The Mercedes Benz C Class Coupe is targeted towards the sporty individual, features include Dynamic Handling, interior and engine options similar to the sedan, the Coupe is more understated and luxury-focused than its competitors. The vehicle potential is incredible being able to reaching 60 mph takes about seven seconds  (Lane, 2013). The Mercedes C Class Family has a numerous variety of both models with tons of add-ons. Overall I think it depends on your individual needs, the Sedan is more Family orientated and the Coupe is leaning towards the car fanatic or adrenaline junkie.
